Catherine Ballard is a partner and vice-chair of Bricker & Eckler's Health Care group. Her practice focuses on the day-to-day operations of a variety of health care facilities, as well as those facilities' dealings with administrative agencies, private accrediting agencies and court proceedings. She works with clients in the areas of hospital/medical staff integration, quality assessment/performance improvement/peer review; medical staff/AHP governing documents; Medicare conditions of participation and private accreditation; physician recruitment/employment; provider scope of practice; and general patient care. Catherine currently serves as the executive director for Bricker & Eckler LLP's affiliated health care consulting company, The Quality Management Consulting Group, which provides consulting services in the areas of quality management, external peer review and related quality matters, billing audits, regulatory issues, and on-line HIPAA products. From 1985 to 1987, she served as a law clerk to Judge John D. Holschuh of the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and also as an adjunct assistant professor in legal writing at The Ohio State University Mortiz College of Law. She has been listed in Ohio Super Lawyers since 2004 and was recognized from 2004-2006 and 2009-2013 as one of the Top 50 Women Ohio Super Lawyers, named one of the Top 50 Columbus Area Super Lawyers in 2010 and 2013, listed as one of the Top 25 Women Columbus Ohio Super Lawyers from 2010-2013 and was named one of the Top 100 Ohio Super Lawyers in 2013.
